Farming is one of the work suitability skills a pal can have in Palworld.
Pals with this ability can produce particular items if there's a ranch on the base. Farming pals are best used when combined with 
Transporting pals.
Overview[]
While Work Speed buffs do not affect the speed at which Pals assigned to a ranch will produce items while in "Grazing" mode, when Pals enter the animation for production after the grazing timer runs down, Work Speed buffs do appear to make them drop the items faster. A Chikipi will lay an egg every 50 seconds whether it has Work Speed buffs or none. This applies to every Pal that has farming. The only way to increase how many resources they give is by ranking them up in the Pal Condenser. At each rank they gain a chance to drop extra items based on their rank;
- Rank 0 = 1 item
- Rank 1 = 1-2 items
- Rank 2 = 1-3 items
- Rank 3 = 1-4 items
- Rank 4 = 1-5 items
However, this is a time- and resource-consuming process as it requires 117 total of that specific Pal, including the one you're condensing into, to get one to rank 4.
On a related note, where Wool drops are concerned the Lamball, Cremis, and Melpaca do have slight increases between them. The drop chances relative to ranks are the same as above, but where they are concerned, Cremis and Melpaca will always drop a minimum of 2 wool, taking their Rank increases up to 6, as opposed to the Lamball dropping a minimum of 1 up to 5.
As for the Vixy when ranked up, if it rolls multiple drops when it digs, it will dig up multiples of the same item, and not a mixture.
It is also possible for the Pals to wander out of the Ranch at any given time, and as a result will pause their "timer" for production. Consider placing a Bell on each side of the entrance and a Feed Box in between them to prevent their leaving. This does unfortunately mean you may have to throw your Pals into the ranch after fast traveling or logging in.
