Pal subspecies, often referred to as Fusion Pals, are alternative versions of existing Pals in Palworld. These subspecies differ from their base counterparts in both appearance and elemental typing. For example, a Fire-type Pal may have a subspecies variant with Plant or Ice typing.

Availability[]

Breeding[]

Subspecies can be acquired through intentional breeding. By breeding a base Pal with a specific partner, an egg containing the subspecies may hatch. This method provides a structured way to obtain these unique Pals. Here is the list of all special combinations: click here

Wild Encounters[]

Most subspecies can also be found in the wild. They appear in distinct areas of the map, often far from the areas where their base forms are found.

  • They can spawn as regular encounters.
  • They may appear as dungeon or Field Bosses.

Characteristics[]

  • Elemental Diversity: Subspecies often have elements different from their original forms.
  • Design and Themes: While retaining the core design of their base counterparts, subspecies showcase distinct thematic changes, often inspired by their new elemental affinity.
  • Palpedia Completion: Subspecies have unique entries in the Palpedia, identified with a "B" suffix (e.g., 5B). This ensures collectors can track and differentiate them from their base forms.
  • Naming Conventions: Many subspecies have Latin, Greek, or culturally inspired suffixes appended to their names, denoting their elemental divergence:
    • Aqua: Water icon Water-type subspecies.
    • Botan: Grass icon Grass-type subspecies.
    • Cryst: Ice icon Ice-type subspecies.
    • Ignis: Fire icon Fire-type subspecies.
    • Libero: Retains the base form’s element.
    • Lux: Electric icon Electric-type subspecies.
    • Noct: Dark icon Dark-type subspecies.
    • Ryu: Dragon icon Dragon-type subspecies.
    • Terra: Ground icon Ground-type subspecies.
