Stamina is a mechanic in Palworld and represents how much energy your character (or mounted Pal) has left.

About[]

Stamina can be found on the player's character, or any Pals when mounting them. You consume stamina when running, rolling, climbing, gliding, swimming, flying, jumping, and attacking.

Mount stamina is consumed and regenerated separately from character stamina. Swimming pals do not consume stamina while swimming. Since most flying pals can 'stand' on water, they don't lose stamina on water. Rather, they regenerate it.

Stamina is slowly regenerated when not consuming any stamina, and on the ground (not falling). Pals will still regenerate stamina while you are dismounted, but only if they are active and deployed.

Your maximum stamina can be increased in the inventory by using points when you level up.

Being weighed down, crouching and sliding, and throwing Pal Spheres do not consume stamina. Using a Grappling Gun also doesn't, which means it can be used to avoid fall damage when you've run out of stamina.

Consequences[]

If you deplete your stamina, you won't be able to use any stamina-consuming actions anymore, until the entire bar has been refilled. An exception is swimming: you will only be able to stay afloat while the bar is recharging but won't be able to jump or climb out of the water.

If you run out of stamina, you often will take (indirect) damage as a result:

  • While swimming: you will start using your health bar as stamina bar, resulting in damage and potentially death.
  • While climbing: you will fall down, potentially leading to fall damage.
  • While gliding: you will fall down, potentially leading to fall damage or drowning damage.
  • While flying (on a Pal): you will fall down. You and your pal won't take fall damage, but you may unintentionally end up in a battle.
    • Since most flying pals can stand (fly) on water, this won't be a drowning risk when using them.
  • While attacking: running out of stamina may mean you can't return fire while recharging.
  • While jumping: Pals with double jump may not be able to do their second jump when out of stamina, which can cause you to miss your (double) jump.
